Upper Moreland police were called to a home at the Commerce Square Apartments in Willow Grove for a domestic disturbance where an 83-year-old resident let them inside around 11:50 a.m., MontCo District Attorney Kevin Steele said.
Inside, the 68-year-old man ignored officers' commands to drop the handgun and began to raise the firearm up, at which point he was shot and killed by officers, Steele said.
Montgomery County Detectives responded to the scene and are investigating the shooting per protocol, according to Steele.
